Marcy Rylan has made quite the impact in the SORAS’d role of Abby Newman, Victor and Ashley’s daughter. The former Lizzie Spaulding of Guiding Light, who is used to playing a rich brat is pulling it off again, but this time on the number one soap, The Young and the Restless. Marcy caught up with TV Guide Canada’s, Nelson Branco for this new intriguing interview about moving from Springfield to Genoa City, playing a naughty heiress who wants her own reality show, life after giving birth to her real life son, Jackson, and working with some of her new co-stars, especially Michael Graziadei. Here are a few juicy excerpts!
Marcy on working with her new potential on-screen beau Michael Graziadei (Daniel:) “ My first week of work I got spanked and had to be naked! [Joking] I was like, “What did I get myself into?” Michael is a phenomenal actor. In each scene, he listens to his co-stars and doesn’t force his performance down anyone’s throat, which is an asset on stage. Every time we rehearse, block, and tape, the scenes change and grow naturally as we listen to each other. Michael gets that acting is reacting.”
Marcy on Abby’s storyline being soap operas answer to Paris Hilton: “[Laughs] At first, I asked them, “I just had a baby — have you lost your mind?” But now that my naked self and I have confronted each other and made peace, I’ve been enjoying the story, which is rather relevant right now. When I watch TV at home, I realize — “Wow, most of these people do have sex tapes out there.” And people are carving out careers and brands for themselves in the process. I like the storyline a lot. It’s fun.”
